Welcome to the Westwood Hills Residents Association

Notices:

We've had numerous complaints about dogs running at large in Westwood Hills, and would like to remind residents that under HRM's By-Law A-300, Respecting Animals & Responsible Pet Ownership, dogs are not allowed to run at large anytime. For the safety of the animals, please supervise your pets at all times. We live in a semi-rural environment and there are more dangers to our pets than just cars. To report an animal running at large, please call 490-4000.

We would like to ask the Residents cooperation in placing their garbage at the end of their own driveways, and to ensure it is protected from the crows to prevent them from ripping open the bags, and having litter scatted everywhere. And thank you to the residents who constantly and consistently clean up the garbage of others.

As Earth Day is fastly approaching, April 22, 2010, we would like to ask for the Residents' cooperation is cleaning up the ditches in front of their property. Ditches carry stormwater to our lakes, rivers, and oceans, and we can all do our part to make this earth a little greener.

The Association was created in 2002 by a group of residents with the assistance of ASC properties. A survey was mailed out to all of the residents through Halifax Regional Municipality asking the residents their concerns with attaching an area rate of $50 per year to their taxes, 70% of the residents were in favor and thru the assistance of HRM the Residents association was formed.

The monies have been spent in past years by adding street lights to the park on High Timber Drive, the annual July 1st and Boxing Day Skating parties and our latest endeavor the development of the green space on Hemlock and Winslow just to name a few.
Meetings are held monthly and will be advertised on this site along with notice boards and the email. All residents are encouraged to attend.

With your help we can make Westwood a better community.
